Network Analysis

Understanding how we are organized to effect change

This project involves mapping the funding and communication flows as well as collaborative programmatic engagements among public health, social services, medical care, and other local organizations. In the first phase, the team will conduct face-to-face interviews with nonprofit organizations in the region to establish a baseline understanding of this group of important community assets. UNCW’s Institutional Review Board has approved Phase 1 of this research and interviews are set to begin in May 2020.

In the second phase, the team will interview government agencies that fund, support, and collaborate with nonprofits to complete this critical work. In the third and final phase, the team will interview local for-profit institutions to better understand the funding, volunteer engagement, and other philanthropic support provided by this sector in this region. Phase two and three work are planned for Fall 2020 through Spring 2021.
